Genuine ZF Synchronizer Hub 5th/6th Gear – Part No. 1272304124

Technical Specification
As an established ZF parts supplier, we provide the Genuine ZF Synchronizer Hub (Part No. 1272304124), specifically engineered for the 5th and 6th gear synchronization units. In heavy-duty transmissions, 5th and 6th gears are critical for fuel-efficient cruising and high-speed stability. This hub ensures that the sliding sleeve engages these gears with precision and minimal friction.

Simple Install Tip:
Proper installation of the 1272304124 Hub is key to maintaining shift quality at high speeds:
Check Sliding Sleeve Fit: Before mounting the hub on the shaft, test the sliding sleeve’s movement on the hub. It should slide smoothly without sticking or excessive lateral play.
Verify Axial Position: Ensure the hub is pressed to the correct axial position on the main shaft (Part No. 1272304058). Incorrect positioning will lead to poor 5th/6th gear engagement or noise.
Inspect Pressure Pieces: When replacing the hub, always inspect the synchronizer “dogs” or pressure pieces and their springs. These small parts are vital for the hub’s ability to “lock” the gear into place.
Avoid High Temperature Damage: If using an induction heater to expand the hub for installation, do not exceed the temperature limits recommended by ZF. Overheating can soften the hardened steel, causing premature wear.
Alignment Check: Ensure that the oil lubrication holes on the shaft align with the lubrication channels on the hub to prevent “dry” operation during high-speed cruising.
